Macon County Veterinary Hospital provides your pet with a safe, secure home away from home. Whenever you go out of town, have renovations going on, or require a hospital stay, you can rest assured that we are here to take care of your pet’s every need.

Our indoor boarding area is housed in a clean, climate controlled facility. We maintain separate quarters for dogs and cats to ensure that all visitors will have a calm and pleasant stay. Each canine guest has a spacious kennel that allows for exercise as well as resting; we do have indoor cages available that are attached to private outdoor runs. Every feline lodger has a roomy cage for stretching out and napping. Each pet receives personal enrichment from our caring staff members, and owners are welcome to bring their pet’s bed and blanket to make it feel more like home.

We provide Hill’s Science Diet for all kennel guests. You are welcome to bring in a daily supply of your pet's food from home to avoid any upset tummies. Our kennel manager monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each boarded pet, and our veterinarians will be alerted if any problems are noted. Patients who are boarding and require medications will receive their meds according to instructions we receive.

Boarding pets will be welcomed during regular business hours. In order to protect the health of all boarded pets and patients at our facility, we require all lodgers to be up to date on their vaccinations, and we need an annual fecal analysis.

Macon County Veterinary Hospital offers boarding services to pet owners in Lafayette, Red Boiling Springs, Pleasant Shade, and Hartsville, Tennessee as well as nearby communities such as Scottsville, Kentucky. Because space in our boarding kennel can fill up quickly, we ask that you make reservations in advance, especially around the holidays and peak vacation times. Please call us at 615-666-8063 to make your reservation.
