Services

Macon County Veterinary Hospital provides comprehensive large and small animal services by friendly, qualified staff. Please contact us if you do not see a service you require.

As you can see by our pets on the left, we believe in administering TLC. Your pets will be treated with compassion and great care as well.

Annual Exam & Vaccinations

An annual physical examination is one of the most important ways you can care for your pet. Thorough checkups and preventative care can help identify and alleviate health problems before they become more serious. We offer a full supply of high quality vaccinations. You will work with one of our doctors or technicians to decide what vaccinations will be best for your pet. View feline and canine vaccination schedules.

Pre-Purchase Examinations

A through physical exam is provided by one of our qualified veterinarians prior to the purchase or sale of an animal.  Frequently radiographs and blood work will be included in this exam.

Boarding

We provide climate controlled boarding for our patients.  Each dog has a spacious indoor and outdoor kennel.  Our feline guests have a roomy cage away from the noisy dogs.  All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff.  Your pet can be welcomed by our support staff during regular business hours, at which time we will record any special instructions or needs for your pet.  You can rest assured that your pet is enjoying the best care while you are away.  Please remember to call our office in advance to schedule your pet’s vacation reservations.

Coggins Test

A Coggins Test checks a horse for Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA).  This disease is highly contagious between horses.  Any equine that is traveling from one place to another must have a Coggins test.

End of Life Care

Many times the decision to let your pet go instead of suffering is the best thing you can do.  Most pet owners want their pet’s last moments to be as comfortable and stress free as possible.  We offer several options in humane euthanasia, including drop off, owner witnessed, and at home.  To memorialize your pet’s memory, we offer cremation services.

Endoscopy

Endoscopy is another high tech tool that our doctors use for diagnostics.  It is a method of non-invasively looking inside the esophagus, stomach, and intestines by passing a tiny camera on a tube through the mouth.  We can visualize and examine the inner surface of the esophagus, stomach, and intestines; remove foreign body material from the stomach and esophagus; and collect samples for biopsy.

Exotic Wellness Exams & Care

Our small animal services are not limited to only cats and dogs.  We also care for birds, reptiles, and pocket pets.
